Is it worth it to go to a private university?

I'm applying to mostly public state schools, but there is one school that I'm looking into that I might want to apply to. It's a private school with a religious affiliation, but the academics and area it's in is great. It's rather small, about 3,000 students but the number of students has been growing rapidly over the past few years. Is it worth it to go to a private university?
