How trusting are you of Ebay sellers?

I am very wary of Ebay. I am afraid of getting ripped off or getting my identity stolen. I normally will only buy things from sellers who have been selling for years and have at least a 99.7% positive rating. But i've found an item that I want from a seller who has only been selling for a month. They have 5 positive feedback comments, but i'm still wary. What would you do?
